FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We're here to help! Below you'll find information about our store policies and how we do things. For anything not specified here, contact us and we'll be happy to help!

 

DO YOU HAVE A RETURN POLICY ON RECORDS THAT I PURCHASE?

Yes! With your receipt, you can return any un-played or unopened record,  CD, or cassette tape to the shop for a full refund within 30 days of original purchase. After 30 days, we cannot give a full refund (even with a receipt) but items may be traded in for store credit or sold to the shop for a lesser value. Some exclusions apply.

DO YOU HAVE A RETURN POLICY FOR AUDIO EQUIPMENT?

With a receipt, any audio equipment (turntables, amplifiers/receivers, speakers, etc.) can be returned for a full refund within 7 days of the original purchase. After 7 days, items may be traded for store credit, or sold back to the shop, for a lesser value. Some exclusions apply.

DO YOU OFFER A WARRANTY ON AUDIO EQUIPMENT?

We cover the audio equipment that leaves our shop for SEVEN DAYS after the date of purchase. If anything* happens within that SEVEN DAYS we will service it for free and if it cannot be serviced then we will attempt to replace it with available options in stock. If there is no option to replace it, then buyer will receive a full refund.

*Anything does not include, and is not limited to:

  • worked on by third party (other repair service),

  • damaged by user, cosmetic or mechanical

  • left outside in weathered conditions,

  • not properly connected during setup (resulting in “blowing up”),

  • Other exclusions may apply, see Gravity Records staff for details.

Gravity Records has no means of determining the longevity of a piece of pre-owned audio equipment. We can only guarantee its operation at the moment of sale and will cover it for SEVEN DAYS thereafter. 

WHAT RECORDS ARE YOU GUYS LOOKING FOR?

We are interested in most records! We would like the opportunity to view any collection before making a decision on an agreement. The only thing that we might exclude would be classical records, other than that, we're into it all!

WHAT DO YOU GUYS BUY?

We purchase vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, new and vintage turntables, vintage amplifiers/receivers, and most new and vintage speakers. 

NO DVDs, books, comics, toys, musical instruments, antiques, etc.

WHERE DO YOU GUYS SHIP RECORDS?

Anywhere in the continental US! No international shipping. If you are local we please ask that you pickup in the shop when possible as it saves you and us money on shipping, and is better for the environment and those hardworking USPS people.

We do NOT ship any audio equipment.

DO YOU GUYS REPAIR OLD AUDIO EQUIPMENT?

Yes we do! We mainly focus on vintage and new: turntables, speakers, and receivers/amplifiers. Other items are at the discretion of the shop and we reserve the right to refuse any repair.


We do not service consoles, radios, or musical instruments.


Appointments ARE necessary, please call the shop at 910-343-1000 to set up a drop off date for your item. 

HOW MUCH DO YOU OFFER FOR RECORDS, AUDIO EQUIPMENT, ETC.?

There is no set value for what we offer. It all depends on these factors: functionality, cosmetic condition, and what we would be able to sell it for. All of these factors can vary in importance depending on the popularity or scarcity of the release.

DO YOU STOCK NEEDLES FOR MY TURNTABLE?

We order needles on an as-needed basis for repairs BUT we can order one for you if available. Please send pictures of current needle and cartridge, and the turntable brand and model # to gravityrecordsbooking@gmail.com

DO YOU DO PERSONAL ORDERS FOR VINYL OR CDS?

For *select* new vinyl and CDs, we MAY be able to add them to our next order if in stock. We cannot order used records or particular pressings of records. While we wish there was a large warehouse full of amazing used records and rare pressings, that is simply not the case. 

CAN YOU ORDER AUDIO EQUIPMENT (TURNTABLES, RECEIVERS, SPEAKERS)?

Much like with ordering vinyl and CDs, there are *select* new turntables and speakers we MAY be able to order if in stock. We cannot order any used equipment.
